Privacy Policy

This policy applies to SoCal Work Trucks and to this website. We operate a commercial vehicle marketplace serving Southern California. We are not the seller of any vehicle listed here; sellers are independent dealerships, and their own privacy practices apply once your enquiry reaches them.

When you submit an enquiry. Your first and last name, email address, phone number, and optionally your business name and a message. We also collect the details of what you are looking for: vehicle type, make, model or year, quantity, your ZIP code, your purchase timeline, your industry, and whether you prefer contact by phone or email.

A record of the consent you gave. We store whether you accepted our terms, whether you separately opted in to text messages, and the exact wording of the disclosure you were shown along with its version number. We keep the wording verbatim so that if there is ever a question about what you agreed to, the answer is what you actually saw rather than what the current version of the page says.

How you arrived. The page you submitted from, the referring website, and advertising identifiers if you came from an ad — including Google and Microsoft click identifiers and any campaign tags in the link. This tells us which of our pages and campaigns are useful.

Anti-abuse signals. A hidden form field that humans do not see and automated submitters usually fill in, and how long the form was open before submission. Both exist to reject spam.

Your IP address, hashed. We convert it to an irreversible value for rate-limiting and abuse prevention rather than storing the address itself. The one exception is the consent record, where the law expects the originating address to be retained as evidence of who agreed to what.

Analytics. This site uses Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies and collects usage information including approximate location, device and browser details, and the pages you visit. Google processes that data under its own terms.

To pass your enquiry to the dealership that can answer it. To contact you about that enquiry. To prevent fraudulent and automated submissions. To understand which pages help people and which do not. And to keep records that show we obtained consent properly, which is a legal obligation rather than a preference.

The selling dealership. When you submit an enquiry about a specific vehicle, the details go to the dealership offering it. They contact you directly, and their handling of your information is governed by their own policies.

Listings shown for reference. Some vehicles on this site come from outside sources and are not sold by us or by any partner dealership. We do not accept enquiries for those vehicles and we do not pass your details to those sellers — we link you to their listing instead, and anything you do there is between you and them.

Service providers. Hosting, database, email delivery and analytics providers who process data on our instructions in order to run the site.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing enquiry details with a dealership so they can respond to you is the service you asked for. Some advertising and analytics activity may qualify as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law, and you can opt out — see below.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act gives you the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you, and where it came from.
• Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
• Correct inaccurate personal information.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.
• Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
• Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse you service, charge you differently, or give you a worse experience for making a request.

To make a request, use our contact form or the do not sell or share page. We may need to verify your identity before acting, which normally means confirming details you already gave us. An authorised agent may act for you with proof of authorisation.

You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google’s browser add-on, and you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers also offer a Global Privacy Control setting, which signals an opt-out of sale and sharing to every site you visit.

Text message consent is separate and optional. You can submit an enquiry without it, and agreeing to texts is never a condition of purchasing anything. If you do opt in, reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply.

Enquiry records are kept for as long as needed to respond to you and to meet legal and record-keeping obligations, including the consent records that demonstrate what you agreed to. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will do so except where the law requires us to keep it.

This is a commercial vehicle marketplace intended for businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.

If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. Material changes to how we handle information already collected will be communicated more directly than a silently updated page.
